Soothe Salve

This was my first formula ever. Honestly, I just wanted to "f around and find out" what these plants could do. I’ve made it into teas and lip balms, but this salve is the original heavy hitter. My Tías Mary and Silvia in Mexico keep it in their houses for just about everything, and my partner’s Aunt Eileen in Kentucky used it for serious cooking burns and helped her sleep through the night. The feedback has been so incredible, it’s basically become the Roman Remedies signature.

I packed this with Calendula (Mercadela) and Rosehips because they are the ultimate "mineralizers" for skin repair—they basically knit distressed skin back together. I added Lemon Balm (Toronjil) and Lavender to quiet down any inflammation, and a little Peppermint to "pull the heat" out of stings or burns. It’s a balanced blend that cools you down while it heals you up. 

A little goes a long way. Warm a pea-sized amount between your fingers and massage it into any dry patches, burns, or irritations. Since it has that peppermint kick, just make sure to keep it away from your eyes! It’s safe for the whole family and perfect for keeping in your bag for those "just in case" moments.
